Container Rain-moisture issue
Why is the container moisture so severe?
The container is a relatively closed environment. Under the sun during the day, the temperature inside the box is very high (40℃—70℃), and the humidity is at a moderate level (65%); when night comes, the temperature drops relatively greatly (20℃). -30℃), the relative humidity will reach 100%, and the excess water vapor will condense into small water droplets attached to the inner wall of the container or the outer wall of the product package, forming "container fog and rain". "Container fog and rain" will make the goods damp, mildew, stains or rust. Shipping with frequent container fog and rain has the following characteristics:
A. The loading place or most of the sea area where the cargo ship passes by is hot and humid.
B. Use paper boxes, wooden boxes, wooden pallets and other materials with high water content as transport packaging.
C. The loaded goods have a lot of moisture, which is easy to release moisture in the container, increasing the humidity in the container.
Why is the product moldy?
1.Conditions for mildew on items 1) Humidity: The relative humidity of the environment is greater than 60%, and mold can grow. When the RH is greater than 65%, grows faster, and when the humidity reaches RH80-95%, is an environment with a high incidence of mold. 2) Temperature: Mold mycelium can grow at an ambient temperature above 8 degrees, and grow faster above 12 degrees.•When the temperature is above 10 degrees and humidity is above 60%, mold can cause harm to the goods. When the temperature is 20-35 degrees and the humidity is 75-95%, the mold can grow explosively. 2. The harm of mold According to relevant statistics in 1989, the loss caused by moist mold and oxidative corrosion is about 3-4% of the total output value of all countries in the world, and the United States is 70 billion U.S. dollars (including military equipment and materials loss of 5-6 billion U.S. dollars ), UK is 1.6 billion pounds, Japan is 11 billion U.S. dollars, former West Germany is 19 billion marks, and my country is 30 billion yuan. This shows the huge loss. How to avoid container rain and moldy goods?
Container Desiccant-moisture solution
Please use container desiccant strips and drying rods. The amount of container desiccant used depends on the type of cargo, the length of the voyage, and the acceptable degree of damage. Generally, it is recommended to use 6 or more 1 kg container drying strips for a 20-foot container, and hang the container drying strips on the hanging ring on the inner wall of the container. If the packaging materials in the container have high moisture content, such as wooden boxes, pallets, etc., the amount of desiccant in the container should be increased. Valuable goods should be protected and the amount should be increased. It is also possible to lay out some additional containers and dry them on the cartons.
How to use: It can be placed directly in different positions in the container. The specific quantity is determined according to the type of goods, packaging materials, transportation period, climate change (temperature, humidity change), moisture-proof standard, etc. on the way. Generally, 20-foot containers (containers) are adsorbed as needed 8-16 kg of water vapor to determine, if the adsorption capacity is 70% of the desiccant, you need to place 10-20 kg of desiccant, that is, 20-40 bags for CDB500MXT,
The amount of desiccant in a 40-foot container is doubled.
Recommended quantity: 30 packs of 500g for 20’ container
40’ container uses 500g 40-60 packs
Average 750g per cubic meter
